The Technician I - Locksmith is responsible for performing maintenance, routine, and on-demand services, including installing, adjusting, repairing doors and door hardware, and opening locks. The incumbent will also perform other general trade duties as directed.

This role involves maintaining facility doors, door hardware, and functionality for various modes of operation (panic hardware, accessibility buttons, security card swipes). You will be certified in locksmithing and specialized in door and/or door security systems certification(s).

As a Door Security Systems Specialist at BGIS, you will:

  • Maintain facility doors, door hardware, and functionality for various modes of operation.
  • Be certified in locksmithing.
  • Hold specialized door and/or door security systems certification(s).

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Performs regular facility maintenance and inspection.
  • Provides observations about facility conditions and deficiencies and suggests enhancements and repairs.
  • Responds to routine and on-demand service requests.
  • Performs maintenance on non-technical components within the facility.
  • Records resolution data within service maintenance management database.
  • Ensures work completed meets quality, contract response, and all other requirements.
  • Receives, tracks, monitors, and reports status of maintenance work within service maintenance management database.
  • Initiates documents to obtain formal approval of work required.
  • Assists in implementing preventative maintenance programs.
  • Participates in and assists with facility-related projects.
  • Ensures work performed is in compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices, and guidelines related to environmental, health, and safety, fire protection, and any other applicable requirements.
  • Maintains assigned tools and parts inventory and arranges for repair and replacement where required.
  • Assists peers, team members, and others as needed and respectfully requests assistance when necessary.
  • Enhances customer satisfaction and maintains positive relations through manner of work and services delivered.
  • Respects the rights of patients/clients and their families regarding confidentiality, privacy, beliefs, and values.
  • Participates in change by adapting and contributing new knowledge and skills in their area of expertise.
