We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team at General Motors. As a Legal Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our legal team by providing administrative assistance, maintaining electronic filing systems, and coordinating meetings and schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records and files, both physical and electronic
  • Provide administrative support to the legal team, including preparing documents, making travel arrangements, and coordinating meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of meeting materials, including PowerPoint presentations and agendas
  • Coordinate and schedule meetings, manage calendars, and prepare agendas for lead counsels
  • Prepare and submit expense reports for lead counsels
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support, including mail distribution and data entry
  • Assist with the preparation and filing of corporate forms and documents
  • Coordinate the department's quarterly SOX reporting, Information Lifecycle Management, Litigation Hold Process, and Time Keeping
  • Coordinate the department's Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Plan
  • Assist in resolving any administrative problems or issues that may arise

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant administrative or related experience in a professional office setting
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment
  • High level of confidentiality and ability to exercise discretion and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to prioritize and make decisions within the scope of assigned authority
  • High level of organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • High level of oral and written communication skills
  • French language proficiency is an asset but not required
