Capital Planner and Project Manager

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced professional to lead capital planning projects in a fast-paced environment.

About the Job:

The Capital Planner and Project Manager will be responsible for leading and directing project studies, evaluating options, and demonstrating impact on capital and operating costs for specified capital projects. This includes providing effective leadership to the project team, ensuring participation of key partners, and monitoring capital and program operating resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and facilitate all stages of multiple capital planning projects to ensure cost effectiveness, adherence to building standards/codes, and consistency with technical requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between consultants, external and internal clients during the planning stages to ensure compliance with client requirements, application of sound industry practices, and consistency with IH policies and practices.
  • Identify the need for external consultants and assist in the preparation of procurement documents, including Expressions of Interest (EOI), Invitation to Quote (ITQ), Request for Qualifications (RFQ), and Requests for Proposals (RFP).
  • Perform or arrange for site inspections, develop functional programs, concept plans, schematic designs, and business plans, which outline all overarching aspects of the project.
  • Initiate and chair start-up meetings, attend regularly scheduled project meetings, review drawings and specifications to ensure adherence to building standards, and coordinate input from client users to confirm functionality.
  • Analyze technical and situational information to determine the project's potential impact on services, facilities, systems, and/or staff.
  • Prepare cost estimates, reports, and quality control of assigned capital planning projects.
  • Evaluate proposals for consistency within project requirements and IH policies and standards.
  • Monitor consultant performance for adherence to building standards/codes, consistency with technical requirements, contract conditions, budget, and schedules.

Salary: The salary range for this position is $88,990 to $127,923. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.
