Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Residential Counsellor to join our team at the Youth Justice Residence. As a Residential Counsellor, you will provide support and guidance to youth in detention, helping them to develop life skills and achieve their goals. This is a part-time, contract position with a competitive hourly rate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to youth in detention, helping them to develop life skills and achieve their goals.
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities to promote social skills, community awareness, and personal growth.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support youth in achieving their goals.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to provide comprehensive support to youth and their families.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure effective program delivery.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, such as social work or youth justice.
  • Valid First Aid and CPI certifications.
  • At least one year of recent work experience in a related field, preferably in a residential setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to providing high-quality services.
