Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Employee Benefits Manager to join our team at Hemlock Printers Ltd. This is a permanent, full-time position responsible for administering payroll and benefits for all employees across the company.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer all aspects of payroll and reporting in both Canada and the US.
  • Prepare and process employee payroll-related payments, including regular pay, benefits, and special payments such as bonuses and vacation pay.
  • Compile, review, and monitor statistical reports, statements, and summaries related to pay and benefits accounts.
  • Provide payroll reports, overtime reports, time off reports, and staff counts.
  • Submit payroll taxes and manage RRSP/401k accounts.
  • Support the HR department with file management related to performance reviews, disciplinary actions, terminations, and hiring new staff.
  • Attend payroll and benefit seminars to stay up-to-date on laws and regulations.
Requirements
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience in accounting or one year of full-cycle payroll experience.
  • Experience with Dayforce is an asset.
  • Certification as a Canadian Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) and/or American Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is an asset.
  • Ability to understand, apply, and explain government regulations and company policies affecting employment standards and benefits.
  • Intermediate Excel skills, including experience with Pivot tables.
