Job Title: Healthcare Administrative Coordinator

Overview: Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Administrative Support III to join our team. As an Administrative Support III, you will play a crucial role in supporting the registration process for clients and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  1. Registration of clients utilizing the Provincial registration system, including collection/verification of patient demographic information and validation of healthcare insurance.
  2. Creation of Unique Lifetime Identifiers (ULIs) for non-residents of Alberta, new Alberta residents, and newborns in the Alberta Person Directory.
  3. Completion of electronic documents to finalize the registration process for WCB, RCMP, and/or NRA clients.
  4. Collecting and receiving payment from clients and uninsured services.
  5. Switchboard duties, including telephone queries, remote registration, and requests for patient information as per guidelines.
  6. Application of identification wristbands for all clients.
  7. Greeting clients, visitors, and staff, and directing them to the appropriate areas throughout the health center.


Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices, and initiatives within a department or program. Your qualifications should include:

  1. Grade 12 or equivalent.
  2. Successful completion of a Medical Terminology course (testing will be performed).
  3. 2 years of medical reception experience.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to work cooperatively and professionally with clients, nursing staff, and physicians.
  6. Ability to prioritize and organize work in a fast-paced environment.
  7. Excellent attendance record, reliability, and personal suitability demonstrated through employment references.
  8. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
  9. Superior customer service skills.
  10. Proven accuracy in spelling, keyboarding, and attention to detail.
  11. Minimum typing speed of 45 wpm (testing will be performed).
  12. Proven initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.


Salary: The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
