Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a clinical psychologist to offer psychological assessment and treatment services to military personnel at our medical clinic based in CFB Gagetown, near Oromocto, NB. The ideal candidate will have a passion for assisting the military community, addressing operational trauma, and supporting occupational health initiatives.
This role presents a fulfilling opportunity to positively impact the lives of dedicated individuals who serve our nation and ensure our safety. You will work in a collaborative clinic setting, ideally 2 days a week, with no weekends or evening work required.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population, including differential diagnosis.
- Providing professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psycho-physiological, and behavioral disorders with an adult population.
- Administering appropriate diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpreting the results, and preparing psychological evaluations.
- Reporting results and interpretations of tests, interviews, and evaluations to the multi-disciplinary team.
- Providing treatment of a variety of mental health conditions for Canadian Armed Forces members using evidence-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma processing therapies.
- Participating as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team in case reviews.
- Assisting in the identification, development, and evolution of mental health programming.
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- A degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited University by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association.
- Registration as a Psychologist and authorization for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body.
- At least 2 years of full-time, post-graduate experience, under a license for autonomous practice, within the last 5 years, completing psycho-diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis, and providing Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and trauma processing therapy (CPT, EMDR, or CPT) for adults with PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and other various mental health illnesses.
The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
