Physiotherapy Resident

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Physiotherapist to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Physiotherapy Resident, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills and expertise in a tertiary care setting.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with actual or potential impairment, pain, functional limitations, or disabilities.
- Develop holistic treatment programs using exercises, education, and manual, mechanical, electrical, and hydrotherapy techniques.
- Educate and communicate with other health disciplines, the general public, family members, and caregivers regarding health promotion, physiotherapy treatment, and patient management.
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following requirements:
- Graduation from a Master's degree in Physiotherapy or acceptable equivalent from a recognized school of Physiotherapy.
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapy and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
- Current certification in CPR.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Computer competency with Microsoft office suite.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
- 14-18 month long assignment, full-time (over-core) positions.
- One permanent, full-time (over-core) position available at South Shore Regional Hospital.
- One permanent, full-time (over-core) position available at Yarmouth Regional Hospital.
- Following your Residency, you will either be placed into open unfilled positions within Rehabilitation Services, or you can apply for advertised positions throughout Nova Scotia Health.
$33.97 Hourly.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan. (Permanent Long Assignments Only)
Successful candidates going into a residency placement outside of Central Zone will receive a signing bonus of $ with a defined Return of Service contract.
