About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Business Development and Launch Planning Leader to join our team at Otsuka Canada Pharmaceutical Inc.

This is a contractual position for one year, located in Montreal - Head Office. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director, Business Development and Corporate Strategy.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in business development and strategic planning, with a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry. Key responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing and evaluating local business development opportunities aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Conducting in-depth reviews and due diligence on potential partners, including scientific assessment, market research, competitive intelligence, pricing, and market access.
  • Developing strategic direction for select early assets, including market research, brand positioning, life cycle management, and financial assessments.
  • Representing the company at global asset planning meetings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing and presenting business cases and launch recommendations to leadership, as well as participating in corporate planning sessions and progress updates.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A minimum of 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with senior management roles in commercial and/or business development.
  • Demonstrated success in leading brand launches and strategic planning, with excellent presentation and project management skills.
  • Experience in sourcing and evaluating pharmaceutical or biotech products for licensing/acquisition, with a minimum of 2-4 years working experience in a business development role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $140,000-$180,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and professional development opportunities.
