We are seeking a seasoned Technical Director to lead our efforts in Building Information Modeling (BIM) within the GTA Buildings Practice. This individual will be responsible for spearheading the development and implementation of BIM best practices, ensuring consistency of product and process, and driving process improvement.

This role is crucial for providing technical expertise, leadership, and guidance to project teams on project scope, approach, setup, delivery, including the development and implementation of Digital Project Execution Plans.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in large and complex project delivery, particularly in AE design projects and APD deliveries, with a deep understanding of buildings systems design, layout, and coordination.

They will also possess expertise in modeling, drafting, visualization software, including the Autodesk Buildings Suite and associated plug-ins, as well as strong grasp of design coordination/clash detection processes and technologies.

In addition, they will be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project, and have a functional knowledge of industry-standard software such as Bluebeam, Newforma, SketchUp, dRofus, and ProCore.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a liaison for BIM-related matters both internally and externally
  • Lead and influence the implementation of interdisciplinary standards and improvements in digital project delivery
  • Provide guidance to project teams on project scope (BIM related), approach, setup, delivery, including the development and implementation of Digital Project Execution Plans
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of templates, families, and other digital content to ensure consistency and efficiency
  • Conduct regular reviews of projects to ensure quality and adherence to company standards
  • Evaluate and recommend new BIM-related technologies
  • Lead regular end-user support and training sessions
  • Communicate corporate initiative and standards effectively across the studio, office, or Business Centre

This is a full-time position based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with occasional travel to other locations within the GTA Buildings Practice.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the AE profession/field, with a minimum of 12 years of experience in the AE industry, at least 5 years focused on BIM technologies and processes, and at least 3 years of management/leadership experience.

Large & Complex project experience, particularly in the Healthcare Sector, is highly preferred.
