About the Role

Pacific Coast Community Resources is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Support Worker to join our team. As a Community Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals living in staffed homes within their community.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Advocate for the rights and choices of the individuals we support, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
  2. Build meaningful relationships with the people we support, empowering them to be independent and self-determining.
  3. Collaborate with the team to develop and implement Personal Service Plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes for our clients.
  4. Provide support with daily living tasks, including food preparation and light housekeeping, to maintain a safe and healthy living environment.
  5. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  1. Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services/health care.
  3. Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  4. Previous behaviour management course/training.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate (verbal & written) with team members, professionals, families, and community members.
  6. Restricted class 4 driver's licence (for Full-Time positions).
  7. Criminal record clearance for children and vulnerable adults.
  8. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status as per current Public Health Orders.
  9. TB Test.
  10. Moderate computer literacy.
