Job Summary

As a key member of our planning team, the Heavy Maintenance Planner will be responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of complex aircraft maintenance tasks. This role requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and effective communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Creation of major check work packs and oversight of completed records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Utilization of N-OC scheduling software to ensure check visibility is available for all relevant departments.
  • Collaboration with the central planning team to ensure maintenance requirements are included in the work packs.
  • Work with engineering and reliability teams to incorporate modification and reliability tasks into the checks as required.
  • Conduct pre-check meetings to ensure all departments are aware of the work being scheduled, including part and tooling requirements.
  • Provide ongoing oversight of the work packs during the check to ensure scope, time span, and cost are kept within budget.
  • Adjust work packs as necessary and communicate changes to relevant stakeholders, including Stores, Purchasing, Heavy Maintenance, Logistics, and Engineering.
  • Resolve planning queries from maintenance personnel, including manual references, skill set requirements, task understanding, and deferral allowances.
  • Work with maintenance software administrators and engineering teams to resolve errors and omissions, such as part effectivity and task discrepancies.
  • Ensure new constraint tasks, such as repair repeat inspections, are built into the maintenance system and tracked prior to aircraft release.
  • Provide assistance as needed to ensure maintenance records are entered correctly.
  • Analyze post-maintenance data for improvement opportunities and implement changes as required.
  • Analyze post-maintenance part requirements to ensure data is available for the purchasing team.

Requirements

  • Three to five years' experience in maintenance planning within the aviation industry.
  • Detailed understanding of aircraft regulatory requirements.
  • Sound understanding of aircraft documentation, technical records, and aircraft maintenance planning.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical diploma or relevant post-secondary education in aviation maintenance or a related technical field is an asset.
