Job Summary:

Johnson Electric is seeking a skilled Industrial Plumber to join our team. As an Industrial Plumber, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment in an industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain pipes, valves, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures in an industrial structure.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and thread pipes using hand and power tools or machines.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, or soldering, brazing, and welding equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Perform regular inspections of pipes and plumbing fixtures.
  • Keep accurate records of time spent working, description of work performed, and materials used.
  • Keep accurate inventory of required materials, ensuring stock of required material when needed.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Familiarity with the intricacies of working with PVC, CPVC, PEX, cast iron, and copper.
  • Proficiency in basic mathematics and measurement conversion.
  • Ensure that local and provincial safety regulations are met.
  • Ensure that the requirements of the Quality Management System and Environmental Health and Safety Systems are met.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of apprentice program with five years' experience.
  • Licensed plumber.
  • Ability to work indoors in a noisy environment with varying temperatures.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, such as heavy lifting, climbing ladders, crawling, etc.
  • Ability to work at height.
  • Ability to lift a maximum of 50lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
  • Able to work overtime when required/requested.
  • Proficient in English (both spoken and written).
  • Proficient in Math.
