Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Manager to join our team at YPP Associates P.C. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal services and operations management, with experience in directing the operations of a legal firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct the operations of a legal firm, including planning and organizing services to business clients.
  • Market business services and plan and control budget and expenditures.
  • Supervise professional, para-legal and support staff, and articling students.
  • Prepare financial statements and reports, and negotiate settlement of claims.
  • Audit accounting records to determine income, exemptions, payable taxes, compliance with reporting regulations, and existence of fraud.
  • Identify and solicit potential clients, and prepare T4 statements and other statements.
  • Administer estate, personal, charitable, corporate, and other types of trusts, direct trust account investments, receive and record investment income, and disburse trust funds.
  • Direct and control corporate governance and regulatory compliance procedures within the establishment.
  • Represent clients in small claims court and in other lower court proceedings, at tribunals, and before administrative bodies.
  • Consult with government regulatory and licensing agencies to ensure conformance to provincial standards.
  • Hire and provide training for professional and non-professional staff.
  • Advise clients of their legal rights and all matters related to law.
  • Draw up legal documents and prepare statements of legal opinion.
  • Perform administrative functions related to the practice of law.
  • Enter client information in databases.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a legal firm.
  • Professional accreditation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized and client-focused.
