About the Role:

The University of Toronto seeks a highly skilled and experienced Academic Human Resources Officer to join the John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape and Design. The successful candidate will provide a full range of academic human resource services and planning, supporting the Dean and other academic administrators with tenure stream, non-tenure stream and teaching stream faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support and guidance on academic human resource matters, including employment, appointments, promotions, tenure, leaves, and salary administration.
  • Review and advise on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate the academic salary administration process, including PTR calculations.
  • Manage databases related to academic activities and prepare complex statistical reports.
  • Collaborate with Central HR's Labour Relations team on the interpretation and administration of collective agreements for CUPE 3902, Units 1, 3 and 5.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of recent and related administrative experience in a University setting.
  • Advanced academic HR-related knowledge, including university policies and procedures.
  • Experience interpreting and advising on academic policies and procedures.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office and HRIS systems.
  • Strong research, writing, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
