Job Description

">

This Rural Rehabilitation Therapist position supports services in Occupational Therapy at the St. Paul Healthcare Centre and St. Paul Community Health Services, including homecare, acute, and continuing care.

">

As a Rural Rehabilitation Therapist, you will work both individually and as part of an interprofessional team under the assignment, monitoring, and evaluation of a therapist.

">

You will contribute to effective and efficient rehabilitation services, including direct and indirect client care across the health care continuum, for all ages.

">

This role requires you to work effectively with internal and external partners, display professionalism and strong ethics in client-centered care and participation in care teams.

">

You will demonstrate evidence of reflective thinking and lifelong learning that enhances individual and team competency.

">

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

Completion of a diploma from an accredited post-secondary rehabilitation program or equivalent training may be considered.

">

Certification in Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider from the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation is required.

">

One year of experience working as a therapy assistant in a rural setting or as an occupational or physiotherapy assistant in homecare, outpatients, or continuing care is preferred.

">

Experience working with aids to daily living mobility equipment, including wheelchairs and walker maintenance, and client education is also preferred.
