Job Title: Greenhouse Labourer

Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and physically demanding Greenhouse Labourer to join our team at Ontario INC. as part of our Floriculture Production team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean the crops and maintain a clean work environment
  • Clear and collect brush and debris from fields and other work areas
  • Perform greenhouse cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • Mix and apply fertilizers as needed
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
  • Report signs of insect or disease damage
  • Assist with planting bulbs and seeds, potting and re-potting plants, and transplanting seedlings or rooted cuttings

Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods
  • Attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Availability for shift or on-call work

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a greenhouse environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels
  • Exposure to outdoor elements, including wet/damp conditions and odours
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces

Education and Experience:

  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Previous experience in horticulture or a related field an asset
