Job Title: Software Developer - Intermediate

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Software Developer - Intermediate to join our team at Capleo Global. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex mainframe applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft Technical Requirements: Develop detailed technical solution designs and specifications for mainframe applications.
  • Program Development: Write, maintain, and unit test programs in IMS DB/DC Mainframe using IBM COBOL for ZOS, PL/I, BTS, JCL, and CLIST.
  • System Integration: Support system integration between mainframe and application servers using tools such as Connect Direct and IMS connect.
  • Deployment and Support: Promote programs from development to system test, ensure all work follows existing standards, and provide ongoing support in development and production environments.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Develop and maintain reports using Clist and TSO, and prepare specifications and document modifications and enhancements.
  • Application Support: Provide ICON application support and participate in on-call rotation.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Support testing teams during system and user acceptance testing.
  • Deployment Packages: Prepare deployment packages of code and instructions for builds in Development, UAT, and participate in knowledge transfer.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory Requirements: At least 5 years of experience with mainframe application analysis and SDLC.

Preferred Skills:

  • Overall Experience: Over 8 years of overall experience in the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
  • IBM COBOL Experience: Strong IBM COBOL experience and expertise with the mainframe environment.
  • Mainframe Solutions: Experience maintaining and supporting mainframe solutions and databases.
  • Data Migration: Strong knowledge of data migration processes involving mainframe systems.
  • System Integration: Experience in implementing system-to-system integration involving mainframe applications.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills.

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Technical Skills: 5 years of experience in designing, developing, and maintaining complex mainframe applications.
  • Data Migration Experience: Demonstrated experience leading data integration and migration initiatives.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to translate business requirements and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Public Sector Experience: Experience working in the Public Sector.
