Event Support Specialist

Job Overview
Ensuring a seamless experience for our guests, the Event Support Specialist plays a vital role in setting up and breaking down banquet spaces, meeting rooms, and ballrooms. This involves meticulous cleaning and maintenance of corridors, vending areas, elevators, landings, and service areas to uphold the hotel's high standards of cleanliness.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Expertly set up and break down tables, chairs, audio-visual equipment, platforms/stages, and other specified equipment according to group requirements.
- Clean, store, and secure all tables, chairs, and audio-visual equipment, platforms/stages, and other equipment used for banquet functions in an organized manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness of banquet rooms, hallways, storage, and service areas.
- Inspect the cleanliness and working condition of all equipment to be set up in function areas and report any damages or issues to the Supervisor.
- Refresh rooms during breaks by replenishing supplies, water pitchers, etc.
- Retrieve clean linen and skirting and stock in storage areas.
- Pick-up and deliver all boxes and materials (flip charts, easels, blackboards, etc.) for functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to Company and Brand Standards.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess basic reading, writing, and mathematical skills, with general knowledge of banquet operations preferred.
This role requires the ability to:
- Remain stationary for extended periods.
- Carry or lift items weighing up to 100 pounds (tables, chairs, stages).
- Move about function areas.
- Bend, stoop, kneel.
Other
- Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with guests, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Reading and writing abilities are utilized frequently for banquet event orders and instructions.
- Basic math is applied regularly to ensure proper setup of tables, settings, chairs, etc.
- Alcohol Awareness certification may be required by local or state government agencies.
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays is necessary.
