Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Executive Chef to lead our kitchen team at the Asian Cafe. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods.

Responsibilities
  • Cooking and Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food.
  • Sourcing and Inventory: Order supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Cleanliness and Sanitation: Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Possess a trades certificate or diploma in culinary arts or equivalent experience.
  • Languages: Proficient in English, with Chinese language skills an asset.
  • Work Experience: At least 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Availability: Willing to relocate for this position, with current residence in proximity to the advertised location.
  • Skills and Qualities: Dependable, organized, reliable, team player, and strong time management skills.
Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 per annum, based on industry standards and location. This is a full-time position with 35-40 hours of work per week, offering a competitive compensation package including benefits and opportunities for growth.
