Key Responsibilities:

Prepare patients for treatment and maintain a clean and safe environment

Assist dentists during procedures and perform intra-oral tasks as required

Maintain accurate records and databases, and perform billing and pre-authorization tasks

Requirements:

Completion of a certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting Program

Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Dental Assistants (CADA)

Recent experience with intravenous sedation and CPR Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS – HCP)

Minimum of two years of recent dental assistant experience, with excellent assessment, critical-thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and patient care skills

Preferred Qualifications:

National Dental Assisting Examining Board (NDAEB) certification

Cross-cultural competence and experience working with complex, vulnerable populations

Experience in operative services and a sound working knowledge of GOLD electronic medical record systems
