Funeral Director Job Description

At Park Lawn, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Funeral Director to join our team. As a Funeral Director, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating funeral services, working closely with client families to ensure their needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Consult with client families to create personalized funeral services
  • Coordinate all service arrangements, including clergy, musicians, and other participants
  • Utilize technology to record merchandise selections, enter contracts, and complete necessary forms
  • Plan and conduct visitations and services
  • Oversee employees participating in services, ensuring they understand their roles and are representing the location professionally

Requirements:

  • Active Funeral Director's license in good standing
  • Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract
  • Proficient in MS Office and funeral software

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • High degree of overall computer proficiency
  • Demonstrated willingness to participate in community-based organizations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers

Working Conditions:

  • Generally performed in an indoor office setting, with some outdoor duties
  • May require exposure to natural elements, such as inclement weather

Travel:

  • May require up to 10% out-of-area and overnight travel
