Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Emergency Response Specialist to join our Department of Public Safety team. As a key member of our emergency response unit, you will be responsible for fire suppression duties, emergency medical response, rescue operations, and preventative maintenance on equipment and apparatus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fire suppression duties;
- Emergency medical response and transport;
- Rescue and extrication operations;
- Preventative maintenance on property, apparatus, and equipment;
- Participation in scheduled training;
- Fire inspection, public education, and life safety programs;
- Communicate effectively, respectfully, and inclusively at all times.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be at least 18 years old and a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You must possess a High school diploma or equivalency and a valid Class 3 driver's license with Airbrake endorsement with no current or pending suspension. Completion of NFPA 1001 Level I & II (Fire Fighter) and a current PCP license and registration from any Canadian jurisdiction are also required. Completion of NFPA 1002, 1072 Hazmat, 1006 Rescue and 1051 Wildland qualifications are considered assets.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary of approximately $65,000 - $85,000 per year, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a defined benefits pension plan and relocation assistance.
