Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one care to patients as required, ensuring their physical and emotional needs are met.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support patients with dementia or cognitive impairments, using techniques that promote their independence and dignity.
  • Work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as basic life support and body mechanics.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a Personal Support Worker Program from a Community College.
  • Holds current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with patients with dementia or cognitive impairments.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of good body mechanics.
  • Good listening skills and ability to understand, interpret, and carry out written or verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work as a member of the multidisciplinary team and work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient safety and regular, punctual attendance.
  • Functional proficiency in English (oral and written) and limited proficiency in oral French.
