About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Operations Assistant to join our Logistics team at AbCellera. This role is a great opportunity to support the central services essential to the operation of our laboratory teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain inventories of consumables and reagents and inform colleagues of received goods.
  • Assist with laboratory glassware washers, autoclaves, and ovens to clean and sterilize laboratory glassware and other labware.
  • Perform maintenance on lab services equipment, such as autoclaves, glassware washers, ovens, water purification systems, and freezers.
  • Support chemical and hazardous waste management in collaboration with the Safety Team.
  • Receive incoming shipments from various vendors, quality check, and assess shipment condition.
  • Manage inventory flow in an inventory management system and organize the distribution of materials to central storage locations.
  • Write and maintain proper documentation (including SOPs and Work Instructions) and record keeping.
  • Transport materials between various buildings using a company vehicle.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent with at least two years of experience in a related field or a post-secondary diploma or certificate in a related field.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated person, fast learner, team player, and creative problem solver.
  • Initiative and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Accountable, reliable, punctual, and resilient, with an unwavering work ethic.

What We Offer

AbCellera's hiring range for this role is CAD $50,000 - $62,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution. You will have a CAD $1,500 annual Active Lifestyle Allowance, annual vacation, professional development opportunities, and comprehensive health benefits.
