About the Role

Affirm is revolutionizing credit to make it more transparent and consumer-friendly. We're seeking a highly motivated engineering manager to lead our Repayment UX Engineering team in Europe. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you'll be responsible for building and managing a full-stack team of engineers, driving planning and prioritization of projects, and collaborating with other engineering teams and partners to deliver high-quality consumer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead a team of engineers in building and maintaining web and mobile applications, ensuring high-quality delivery and ownership of user flows.
  2. Develop and implement technical strategies to drive business growth, working closely with product managers, designers, and analysts to deliver innovative solutions.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  4. Coach and mentor team members to increase their impact, providing regular performance development and feedback conversations.
  5. Foster a respectful and supportive environment that leverages the diversity of the team.
Requirements
  1. 4+ years of experience as a software engineer with leadership responsibilities and 2+ years as an engineering manager.
  2. Passion for working with cross-functional teams, including product, design, analytics, and business teams.
  3. Expertise in synthesizing complex business, product, and technical requirements to produce high-quality system designs and software.
  4. Humble and authentic leadership, prioritizing the needs of others and helping team members develop and perform at their best.
  5. Experience building, launching, and maintaining web or mobile applications at scale, with a bonus for experience with large-scale systems in a service-oriented architecture.
  6. Humility and self-awareness to navigate the unknown and make informed decisions.
  7. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
