We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager Leader to join our team at Pomerleau, a national leader in the construction industry.

About the Role:

As a Project Manager Leader, you will define and manage cost and schedule control, risk management, contract administration and document control functions on large-scale projects ranging from $50 million to upwards of $1 billion. You will have an important role in project integration and responsibility for project accountability towards the client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of professionals, technicians and administrators;
  • Lead the team and ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables;
  • Evaluate and validate the chosen direction, method or approach as needed;
  • Escalate decisions to the Project Director as required;
  • Collaborate with directors of all project functions and other stakeholders external to the project or company;
  • Prioritize conflicting requirements between functions reporting to them or between these and other project functions;
  • Familiarize yourself with the project's contractual requirements;
  • Develop management plans, processes, tools and methods to be deployed during the project in collaboration with the team and Project Director.

Additional Responsibilities:

You will also provide support to the Project Director for executive presentations, analyses, or strategic discussions for the project, supervise and support personnel in the performance of their duties including Cost Control Manager, Master Planner, Risk Management Manager, Change Management Manager, Head of Progress Control Department, Reporting Manager, Contract Administration Department Manager and Document Control Department Manager.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent;
  • At least 15 years experience in industrial construction;
  • 8 years experience in project control in another sector combined with 8 years experience in industrial construction could also be considered;
  • Demonstrate rigor, accuracy, precision and compliance with standards and norms;
  • Able to synthesize essential elements and establish links between them;
  • Experience in team management;
  • Versatile and autonomous;
  • Understanding of Primavera P6 and Project planning software, knowledge of quantitative schedule analysis;
  • Knowledge of information management systems (PMIS) for major projects;
  • Fluency in both official languages written and oral (English and French);
  • Ability to travel occasionally to the worksite as required by the project.
