Main Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the creation of a technology framework and provide technical leadership in support of Nutrien's initiatives in cloud computing.
  2. Work closely with software developers and system/database engineers to understand requirements and participate in design discussions.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge of cloud architecture and implementation features.
  4. Demonstrate knowledge of DevOps tool chains and processes.
  5. Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns.
  6. Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc.
  7. Develop solutions architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models.
  8. Contribute to DevOps development activities and complex development tasks.
  9. Define optimal database design patterns and solutions for high availability and disaster recovery.
  10. Conduct performance, scalability, and reliability tests of business tools, third party and cloud applications.
  11. Drive scope definition, requirements analysis, functional and technical design, application build, product configuration, unit testing, and production deployment.
  12. Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations.
  13. Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how cloud technology can support these efforts.
  14. Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or other closely related subject.
  2. 8-10+ years of experience with a background in technical architecture, application development, middleware, database management or operations.
  3. Required 3+ years of software/application development experience OR Solution Architecture and Operations.
  4. Experience with AWS, Azure and other Cloud Platforms.
  5. Experience with the monitoring and analytics of CloudHealth, Azure Monitor, Service NOW.
  6. Security – Azure AD, MS MFA, Prisma, Splunk.
  7. Scripting & Languages – Python, Bash, Java.
  8. Extensive hands-on experience and thorough understanding of AWS & Azure architecture, development, deployment, and test automation consuming cloud native services.
  9. Experience and thorough understanding of Agile/Scrum development, DevSecOps, CI/CD process and tools.
  10. Dedication to continuous improvement and optimization of Cloud offerings.
  11. Innovative and ability to think outside the box for creative problem solving.
  12. AWS-Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Preferred.
  13. AWS-Certified Solutions Architect - Professional Preferred.
