Atlantic Canada District Health and Safety Leader

We are seeking an experienced District Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager to join our Atlantic Canada District office. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing proactive strategies that reduce risk, foster a culture of safety, and promote well-being.
Responsibilities:- Review and update HSE policies and practices to ensure they are current, appropriate, implemented, and effectively communicated.
- Oversee the quality and effectiveness of HSE inspections throughout the Atlantic Canada region.
- Collaborate with district management to develop and implement a strategic HSE plan that promotes a positive health and safety culture.
- Conduct risk management assessments of trade contractor safety performance and communicate findings to stakeholders.
- Review the quality of investigations and subsequent findings, ensuring that all necessary actions are taken to prevent future incidents.
- Inspire and influence a positive health and safety culture, leading initiatives that promote well-being and a proactive approach to risk management.
- Identify opportunities to mitigate/minimize risk and financial exposure for claims, ensuring that the company's interests are protected.
- Conflict resolution skills are essential in this role, as you will be required to manage and effectively resolve conflicts with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders in high-pressure situations.
- Develop, evaluate, and make recommendations for project HSE processes, communicating expectations clearly to district staff.
- Influence safety culture and industry legislation through your expertise and experience.
- Ability to travel to all project locations within the Atlantic Canada region is required.
