Salary Package

The salary range for this position is CAD $100,000, depending on experience, and includes short-term and long-term incentive programs, extended health and dental benefits, and 3 weeks paid vacation.

Job Description

The Strategic Procurement Leader will be responsible for establishing best practices in procurement, achieving economies of scale, and ensuring the highest quality products at the lowest possible cost or best competitive price. This involves negotiating with suppliers, evaluating quotations, and processing purchase orders.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Negotiating pricing, contracts, and service level agreements with manufacturers and vendors
  • Receiving and evaluating quotations, interviewing vendors, and selecting/recommending suppliers based on price, delivery requirements, and past performance
  • Processing purchase orders, requisitions, and other purchasing documents
  • Scheduling and coordinating delivery of materials and equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business administration with a Purchasing concentration, or relevant education and/or experience. A minimum of 3-5 years of purchasing experience in the electrical industry is required, along with thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials.

Desired skills and qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated accomplishments in handling diverse and complex sourcing transactions, negotiations, and contractual responsibilities
  • Understanding of legal terms and conditions
  • Working knowledge of procurement techniques, procedures, policies, and accounting
  • Proficiency with MS Office programs, with MS Projects being a plus
