Job Summary

The Industrial Engineering Technician plays a crucial role in the development, improvement, and implementation of processes within the manufacturing area of the business. This position requires a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles and the ability to analyze and optimize production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform time studies and calculate Standard Allowed Minutes (SAMs) to optimize production efficiency.
  • Enter new SAMs into Leadtec and update labor breakdowns to reflect changes.
  • Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities.
  • Collaborate with Production Managers to identify opportunities for process improvement and recommend necessary equipment or attachments.
  • Review efficiencies with Supervisors and Production Managers to identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare labor breakdowns for new styles with estimated minutes for operation sequencing.
  • Establish labor costs for new styles and calculate staffing requirements per style.
  • Design floor layout plans for new production lines to optimize workflow and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Education in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience working as a technician or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Apparel manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong capabilities in planning, organizing, and process control.

  • Familiarity with computers and business software such as MS Office 365, Word, and Excel.
