About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Customer Service Representative to join our team at BC Hydro. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our clients, responding to their inquiries and resolving their issues in a timely and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to BC Hydro customers through multiple service channels
  • Respond to customer inquiries and requests, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Identify customer issues and provide explanations and solutions to resolve their concerns
  • Process customer transactions accurately and ensure customer inquiries have been addressed
  • Collect funds owing on customer accounts, negotiate payment arrangements, and resolve disputes with customers
  • Review and process credit reviews, insolvencies, and security deposits, and prepare credit-related documentation
  • Coordinate the disconnect and restoration of meters for non-pay and non-sign customers, and follow up with appropriate parties on failed disconnections
  • Support the credit administration process by performing duties such as responding to customer inquiries for accounts referred to collection agencies, reconciling and processing commission payments to agencies, and preparing speed of recovery reporting
  • Maintain currency of customer service practices and procedures, energy conservation programs, and BC Hydro initiatives

Requirements

  • High school graduation diploma or equivalent education
  • One (1) year of experience in a customer service role
  • Requires completion of BC Hydro's in-house Customer Service Representative Training Program within six (6) weeks of starting in the job
