Nutrition Specialist for Geriatric Care

The Retirement Concepts team is seeking a skilled Nutrition Specialist to join our interdisciplinary team at Williams Lake Seniors Village. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on the lives of seniors in our care.
About the RoleAs a Nutrition Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the nutritional well-being of our residents. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement personalized nutrition care plans that cater to the diverse needs of our residents.
Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and review nutrition care plans for residents, taking into account their individual needs, dietary preferences, and cultural backgrounds.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care planning and coordination.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure that meals and snacks meet the requirements of Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating.
- Liaise with food services staff to develop menus that are nutritious, appealing, and tailored to resident preferences.
- Provide education and support to staff on nutrition-related topics, including mealtime management and food safety.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and guidelines in geriatric nutrition to ensure best practices are implemented.
- Certified member in good standing with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Food and Nutrition or related field, with an accredited internship program completed.
- Recent clinical experience in geriatric nutrition is an asset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of clinical nutrition principles as related to the geriatric population.
We offer a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development in a dynamic and supportive team environment.
