The role of a Marine Life Sea Lion Trainer at West Edmonton Mall is a challenging and rewarding position. As an experienced animal trainer, you will observe animal behavior and apply animal behavior modification techniques to maintain a sustainable environment for the sea lions.

This position requires a deep understanding of animal husbandry and the ability to create educational experiences for guests of all ages. The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Developing and implementing feeding and husbandry programs for California Sea Lions
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment for the sea lions, including cleaning and disinfecting their areas
  • Applying Operant Conditioning Training techniques to promote desired behaviors in the sea lions
  • Training medical behaviors and presentations with the sea lions
  • Developing and maintaining training programs to ensure industry guidelines and government regulations are adhered to
