We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) to join our manufacturing team at the Saint-Gobain Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our equipment and machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulations, and compliances to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to machinery and plant support systems, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Work with our preventative maintenance programs and maintain accurate maintenance records.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhauls, maintenance, or setup of machinery.
  • Use precision tools, such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators, to ensure accurate measurements and repairs.
  • Fabricate custom parts, fixtures, and guarding using arc welding, grinding, and oxyacetylene cutting.
  • Assemble and install machinery and equipment, including mixers, saws, pullers, and precision bearings.
  • Align equipment and couplings on pumps and Falk couplings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment in breakdown situations to ensure production requirements are met.
  • Work at heights and perform other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum grade 12 education.
  • Valid Maintenance Millwright license/certification in the Province of Manitoba.
  • 1-5 years of experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and health-safety-environment conscious.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with CMMS and Maintenance SAP systems.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and aerial lifts.
  • Strong familiarity with machine shop practices and power tools.
  • Understanding of bearings and their functions.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Machinist and/or welding accreditation is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform overtime, on-call, and shift work if required.
