About the Role


We are seeking a skilled Clinical Psychiatric Care Specialist to join our Pender Integrated Care Team, Mental Health and Substance Use at Pender Community Care Centre in Vancouver, BC.


As a member of our team, you will provide direct nursing care and brokerage services to clients with severe and persistent mental illness, concurrent disorders, and/or dementia. You will be responsible for clinical practice, client-centred rehabilitation programs, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop individualized treatment plans.



Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is approximately $41.42/Hr. - $55.91/Hr., based on the location and industry standards in Vancouver, BC.

Responsibilities and Requirements

You will:



  • Assess client needs and develop personalized treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on activities of daily living, medication management, and lifestyle integration.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records according to established standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities, engage in team planning, and maintain ongoing professional development.
  • Demonstrate physical ability to perform duties and work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.


Qualifications and Skills

To be successful in this role, you must have:



  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
  • Diploma in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing plus two years' recent related experience working with individuals with severe and persistent psychiatric illness, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Valid BC Driver's license and local area travel may require the use of a vehicle, as required.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of a client-centered recovery model in mental illness, concurrent disorders, and psychosocial rehabilitation methodology.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflict situations, communicate effectively, and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or higher, such as Psychology, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy, is preferred but not required.
