Altis Recruitment is seeking a Corporate Financial Planning Specialist for a permanent role based in Mississauga.

This position is responsible for coordinating external audits, preparing standalone financial statements, supporting M&A activities, and conducting various financial planning and analysis tasks across North America.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Audit & Accounting

Oversee and manage external audits and year-end close reviews. Prepare legal entity financial statements and disclosure notes, coordinate their audit with external auditors. Provide expertise in accounting policy aligned with industry-specific Accounting and Reporting Policies and offer support for regional FP&A teams in meeting ad hoc reporting needs.

Statutory/Stand-Alone Financial Statements

Prepare and finalize statutory and stand-alone financial statements in line with US GAAP and IFRS standards, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely reporting. Work closely with auditors to supply all required documentation and support throughout audit processes.

Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)

Assist with due diligence efforts for M&A, handle acquisition accounting, including purchase price allocation and prepare supporting documents for auditors, such as goodwill valuations on acquisitions.

Special Projects & Technical Accounting

Contribute to specialized projects like restructuring, new ASC/IFRS standards implementations, and conduct research on complex technical accounting issues. Develop technical memos on topics such as joint control, pensions, impairment, and acquisition accounting under both US GAAP and SEC standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a major in accounting and finance; preferred CPA or equivalent recognized accounting designation
  • Minimum 2-3 years of accounting and financial management experience with increasing responsibility
  • Experienced with MS Office, Google Suite, and SAP
  • Big four experience will be considered valuable
  • Excellent IFRS reporting experience (US GAAP and SEC reporting is considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of accounting within the manufacturing and/or construction industry would be an asset

Estimated Salary Range:$80,000 - $110,000 per annum
