This Marine Personnel Resource Manager position provides a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, making it an attractive opportunity for experienced accounting professionals.

The role involves analyzing payroll data, verifying payment claims, and allocating account codes to the correct accounts. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in accounting and collective agreements, as well as proficiency in JD Edwards and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities include:

  • Checking and verifying all information related to time worked, rates, tugs, overtime, premium pay, and timesheets submitted for payment
  • Allocating account codes for Labour costs to the appropriate vessel or Revenue Centre accounts
  • Entering data into the computerized payroll system and answering enquiries regarding claims that affect payment of wages
  • Entering training and conference hours and assisting in entering overtime in the system
  • Completing cost analysis for the engineering and port captain departments
  • Preparing and analysing overtime reports, time utilization, wage cost etc.

A successful candidate will possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in Labour Relations or Accounting, with a strong understanding of collective agreements, rules, and regulations governing the work performed. They will also be able to work independently with minimal supervision, maintaining an accurate and steady pace in processing a large volume of overtime claims while providing excellent customer service.

The salary for this position is estimated at around $63,000 per year, based on the starting rate of $5,475.00/month, which increases to $5,959.00/month after the probation period. This figure is subject to change based on individual experience and qualifications.

This is a unionized position, and pay rates are set out in the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
