The Executive Chef position at TAMARIND INDIAN BISTRO offers a unique opportunity to lead our culinary team and contribute to the success of our restaurant. We are seeking an experienced and skilled chef who can manage kitchen operations, supervise staff, and maintain high standards of food quality and safety.
Job DescriptionThis is a permanent full-time position working 40 hours per week in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in cooking and managing kitchens, with experience in preparing complete meals and training staff. Key responsibilities include:
- Cooking and Preparing Meals: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods for customers, taking into account dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, ensuring efficient use of resources and maintaining inventory records.
- Staff Training: Train new staff members in preparation, cooking, and handling of food.

RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Secondary (high) school graduation certificate and relevant culinary training.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume kitchen.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- A physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.

CompensationThe estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
