  • Read blueprints and wiring diagrams to build electronic components from specifications.
  • Recommend replacement or modification of electronic equipment and repair or replace electronic components as needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate instruments and equipment to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Set up and perform circuit tests to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Apply knowledge of current electrical code and CSA standards to ensure compliance and safety.
  • Ensure the quality of the product by adhering to Johnson Controls' quality standards.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls' safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Completion of a college degree or diploma in a related field is required.
  • 2-3 years of related experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience using power and hand tools is essential.
  • Knowledge of RF, high voltage, analogue, and digital components is required.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team is essential.
  • Knowledge of transformers, relays, magnetic contactors, and motor protectors is an asset.
  • Knowledge of PLC is an asset.

Working Conditions

  • Commercial/Industrial environment.
  • Manual dexterity is required to use necessary tools.
  • Exercise caution as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.
  • Always adhere to safety policies and wear protective equipment.
  • Long periods of standing are required.
  • Overtime as required.
