Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure financial accounting transactions and related activities are recorded correctly and functioning in accordance with standard accounting principles and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.
- Support the accounting department to ensure operational efficiency while focusing on areas of improvement through process review, automation, or new technologies.
- Maintain a high quality of work from employees by providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities.
- Support various business areas to ensure they receive appropriate finance support by responding to requests promptly, assisting with statutory filings, maintaining open lines of communication, and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- A degree in business and commerce with a recognized accounting designation.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong technical skills working within a large enterprise resource planning solution, preferably in the SAP environment.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and work with various groups.
- Previous experience supervising and providing guidance to a team is an asset.
