Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
- Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
- Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
- Supervise other workers
- Estimate costs and materials
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
- 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
- Ability to work at heights, in noisy, dusty and outdoors environments
- Physical accessibility accommodations (for example: ramps, elevators, etc.)
- Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees, youth employment, Veterans, Indigenous people, and mature workers
- Permanent employment with 40 hours per week
- English language proficiency
