Accounting Associate Responsibilities

As an Accounting Associate at Gescan, you will provide accurate and relevant financial information to the controller, including financial statements, reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Month-end and year-end cut-off requirements, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Variance analysis and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Fixed asset control and management.
  • Quarterly forecasts and annual budget preparation.
  • Margin integrity and daily review.
  • Providing financial analysis to senior/branch/operations managers for improved decision-making.
  • Supporting Branch Managers in financial matters.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with an accounting option.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar position, ideally in retail or distribution.
  • The ability to analyze and summarize information effectively.
  • An analytical mind and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Office suite, Excel spreadsheets, and Power BI.
