Job Description

Overview: As a Retail Sales Associate at SUNFOOD MARKET, you will play a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate cash register: Process transactions efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit, and debit card payments.
  2. Process money, cheques and credit/debit card payments: Handle customer payments and maintain a high level of cash handling security.
  3. Scan items: Accurately scan products and maintain a clean and organized checkout area.
  4. Tabulate total payment for goods or services required: Calculate total payment due from customers and ensure accurate change is provided.
  5. Receive payment for goods or services: Collect payment from customers and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  6. Calculate daily/shift payments received and reconcile with total sales: Maintain accurate records of sales and reconcile daily/shift payments.
  7. Suggestive selling: Offer customers additional products or services to enhance their shopping experience.
  8. Stock shelves and clean counter area: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including restocking shelves and cleaning the checkout area.
  9. Greet customers: Provide excellent customer service and greet customers in a friendly and welcoming manner.
  10. Accept reservations or take-out orders: Process take-out orders and accept reservations in a timely and efficient manner.
  11. Assist theatre patrons with seat selection: Assist customers with seat selection in a friendly and efficient manner.
  12. Attend to hotel safety-deposit boxes: Maintain accurate records of safety-deposit box rentals and ensure customer satisfaction.
  13. Wrap or place merchandise in bags: Provide excellent customer service by wrapping or placing merchandise in bags efficiently and accurately.
  14. Weigh produce and bulk foods: Accurately weigh produce and bulk foods for customers.
  15. Provide customer service: Provide excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints in a timely and efficient manner.
  16. Assist customers with self-checkout: Assist customers with self-checkout and provide excellent customer service.
  17. Calculate foreign currency exchange: Calculate foreign currency exchange for customers in a timely and efficient manner.
  18. Monitor all entrances and exits, request proof of payment when necessary: Monitor entrances and exits and request proof of payment when necessary.
  19. Participate in promotional activities: Participate in promotional activities and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  20. Verify the age of customers when selling lottery tickets, alcohol or tobacco products: Verify the age of customers when selling restricted products and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
