Logistics Operations Manager

Pacific Coast Fruit Products Ltd. is a leading agricultural hub in Abbotsford, British Columbia, processing millions of pounds of berries for the food, beverage, and nutraceutical industries.

As a Logistics Manager, you will contribute to the company's growth by managing international supply chain and logistics activities interacting with sales, procurement, demand planning, production, customs brokers, QA, freight forwarders, 3PLs, and government agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Outbound Customer Order Process
  • Supervise, train and evaluate the Logistics Team
  • Complete month-end reporting and month-end closing activities
  • Liaise with Sales to address and resolve order blocks and customer service issues
  • Ensure orders are processed to company standards and customer-requested delivery dates are attained
  • Administer and participate in all claims and Customer deduction investigations
  • Oversee transportation budgets and expenses, including negotiating contracts with carriers and vendors to secure competitive rates
  • Monitor and evaluate transportation performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
  • Manage Carrier relations and onboarding process for CPFP: Inbound/Outbound (Ocean Freight, Intermodal, Road) and Customer Pick-up Programs
  • Manage the third-party payment process for Freight invoices
  • Oversee the monthly accrual process for all freight activities
  • Liaise with Logistics Coordinators to Mitigate Demurrage and other Accessorial charges on inbound shipments

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Order to Cash value optimization Food or related CPG industries
  • Post-Secondary Education in a Supply Chain Discipline
  • Detailed understanding of Transportation activities, with some experience in inventory, supply planning and order-to-cash
  • Experienced with multiple transportation modes (Ocean, Road, Intermodal)
  • Knowledge of Customs, Brokerage, and International Trade
  • Effective problem solver, able to determine the root cause of issues
  • A solid understanding of MS Office applications, experience with ERP systems, MS Dynamics Navision preferred
  • The ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective relationships with team members, and internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and address transportation challenges
  • Strong organizational abilities and the ability to set priorities and reprioritize in a fluid environment
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to build strong relationships fostered on a win/win mentality
