Fairway Farms Ltd. is seeking a skilled Stable Hand to join our team. As a key member of our farm operations, you will be responsible for the care and well-being of our horses.
Key Responsibilities- Clear and collect brush and debris from fields, pens, and other work areas
- Develop specific plans to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient workflow
- Disinfect pens, barns, or poultry houses to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Groom horses in preparation for competitions and shows, and perform animal grooming activities
- Feed and tend animals, and perform livestock feeding tasks
- Assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
- Train horses and maintain work records and logs
- Clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens, and perform general farm duties
- Set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Physically demanding work requiring handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
