About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Service Group in Ottawa or Kingston. As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership to our team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality geotechnical engineering services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform geotechnical engineering evaluations, including soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering, and shoring.
  • Schedule assessments and meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Assign work to field staff as appropriate, depending on workloads and in conjunction with other Senior Managers.
  • Prepare contract documents, proposals, and reports.
  • Provide clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior field staff.
  • Review written work of technical staff and provide feedback and guidance when needed.
  • Meet with clients to determine project requirements.
  • Contribute to business development and marketing efforts to new and existing clients.
Requirements
  • University degree in Geotechnical, Civil, or Geological Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role.
  • Professional Engineering Designation in the Province of Ontario or eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, as well as geotechnical engineering software.
  • Ability to work closely with project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be required.
  • Excellent technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clients.
  • Valid driver's license and personal vehicle required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated).
