The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Lighting Artist and Visual Director to lead our lighting team and drive visual excellence across various projects. The successful candidate will have a strong background in real-time 'AAA' lighting experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality lighting solutions for AAA games. They will be responsible for supervising the implementation of lighting across multiple projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and establishing visual standards and lighting style guides.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the development of lighting strategies and ensure consistency across the department.
  2. Collaborate with Level Designers, Environment Artists, Visual Effects Artists, and team leads to deliver creative lighting solutions.
  3. Work closely with Creative and Art Directors to establish visual standards and lighting style guides.
  4. Partner with global Engineering, Tech Art, and development teams to debug issues, solve problems, and guide future technology standards.
  5. Mentor and coach Lighting team members to ensure their growth and success.

Requirements

  1. Demonstrated expertise in real-time 'AAA' lighting techniques.
  2. A strong portfolio showcasing experience in lighting environments and characters for AAA games.
  3. Proven proficiency with PBR (Physically-Based Rendering) techniques.
  4. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and teaching skills.
  5. Familiarity with modern FPS engines (UE4, UE5, etc.) and modern art pipelines.
  6. Experience working with a wide range of art styles.
  7. Strong production sensibilities, ability to collaborate on timelines, and communicate with Production and team members on task duration and prioritization.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
