Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care to clients, including assistance with daily activities and personal hygiene
  • Support clients' physical, social, and emotional needs in a safe and respectful manner
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure clients receive comprehensive care
  • Comply with relevant government standards, residents' rights, and the organization's mission and philosophy

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Personal Support Worker course in Ontario, or equivalent
  • Experience in long term care setting an asset
  • Current CPR Certificate
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to take initiative, problem solve, and time manage
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to speak and converse in Chinese an asset

Working Conditions

  • Considerable standing, walking, lifting, and bending
  • Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact
  • Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and short shifts
