Master Toolroom Specialist II

We are seeking a skilled Master Toolroom Specialist II to join our team at Camosun College.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, issuing and receiving tools, supplies and course materials, and performing various administrative tasks. This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of our students and staff.
Responsibilities- Maintains and repairs equipment, including hand and power tools;
- Issues and receives tools, equipment and materials, including manuals, videos and toolboxes;
- Tracks inventory of consumable items and prepares purchase requests using Colleague;
- Maintains permanent inventory and records of tools and equipment;
- Reports any stolen equipment or materials;
- Operates college service truck and forklift;
- Maintains cleanliness of toolroom and performs routine maintenance and repairs of hand and power tools;
- Secures toolroom, shop and machine lockouts at end of day;
- Grade 12 or equivalent education with three years specialized experience related to the primary assignment area;
- A thorough knowledge of trade terminology, mechanical drawings, and tools and equipment pertaining to trades departments;
- Good communication skills and ability to work cooperatively and effectively with students, college employees, and suppliers;
- Ability to take additional training as required, including Colleague and other computer training;
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $70,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
